So I have never given blood in my life...and I have no reason not to. I'm not afraid of needles and I have no infectious diseases. Carson's work was having a blood drive so he signed us up for it. I'll admit, I was a little nervous when I laid down and they were getting me hooked up but I found it really isn't that bad. I was a quick bleeder and was done in roughly 10-15 min. Afterward I felt pretty ok. The only side effect I felt was my heart sped up quite a bit and made me short of breath for like an hour but other than that it went well...no passing out! So I'm proud to be a blood donor and I think I'll do it more often! I'm excited to find out what blood type I am, I tested it in an Anatomy class I had back in the day but I've forgotten and having taken my Anatomy/Physiology classes I'm interested to find out because I know what it all means :)

The Eagles
Last Friday night we started out our fun weekend by going to see the new X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie with our neighbors, Josh and Amy. If you didn't already know, I am a big X-Men fan and this would have been seen opening night, but we were in DC. I dressed up as Wolverine and Rachelle was Mystique (not really, but that would have been fun). I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
Saturday morning we went up to the Salt Lake temple to see one of Rachelle's co-workers and his new wife come out of the temple, we did this because we wouldn't be able to go to their reception that night. We then went to Carl's Cafe in Cottonwood Heights, to do a little celebrating for Rachelle's Birthday.
Saturday night we went to the Eagles concert at Rio Tinto stadium. It was an awesome show. This was by far the best concert I have ever been to. They rocked as hard on Saturday as they ever have. They played a bunch of their old hits, a few of their solo stuff, and a song from their new album. They finished off the night with Desperado. Here are some pictures from the concert.

Then Sunday we went to Rachelle's parents to celebrate Mother's Day and her Birthday. We got to talk to her little brother Robert, who is serving an LDS mission in Spain. In case you were wondering, this is what I got Rachelle for her birthday. Happy Birthday Rachelle!

Also, here is a little video I recorded at the concert. It's not the whole song. We weren't supposed to have cameras in there so I didn't want to get caught. Enjoy!

Washington DC
We went back to Washington DC to visit Carson's mission. We just decided to spend the weekend out there. We flew in on Thursday night and went to dinner with Kerry Harding, a member from a ward out there.
Friday we got to tour the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, the Holocaust Museum, and Ford's Theater. It was a busy day. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing and Ford's Theater were both neat, but the Holocaust Museum was a little depressing and educational. We then went to dinner with one of Carson's converts and his wife, Drew and Kara Crowley.
Saturday we went to the temple with my sister Kristy and spent the day with her family. We visited some of the Smithsonian museums. We went to dinner with another family from the area, the Harts. No pictures for that one.
Sunday we woke up early to attend the DC 3rd ward. Carson got the times mixed up, when we showed up at 9 no one was there. We trekked quite a ways in the rain just to find out from a missionary that we were 3 hours early. Since it really started at 12 we couldn't attend the DC2nd ward like Carson wanted. So we went back to the hotel for a few hours. We showed up back to the church at noon and found out it really didn't start til 1. So we could have made it to both meetings. It was fun regardless. Quite an experience for me, I'd never been to an inner city ward before!
We went to dinner at Micah's house that night. He had invited a few others from the DC 2nd ward over for dinner. It was a fun time.
Monday we went in the Washington Monument and since it was raining we couldn't see very far. We then went to the American History Smithsonian. They have the Seinfeld puffy shirt, ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz and such. We then met JS Armstrong at the airport for lunch then we headed home. We had a great time! Thanks to all of those who spent time with us.

Hare Krishna!!
On Saturday, we went to the Hare Krishna Festival of Colors at the Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple. I don't really know what the celebration is for, but they sell bags of colored chalk(flour) that everyone throws at each other. It was a fun time and I suggest everyone do it.
Our camera was out of battery and we didn't check that before we left.....so no pictures except for these after shots. The purple flour seemed to be dominate as Rachelle's hair was left with purple hi-lights after washing it.

Head over Heels
My brother-in-law showed us some literal version music videos that I thought were pretty funny. The only ones I have seen so far are: Take on me by A-ha, Head over Heels by Tears for Fears, and Under the Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers. I really like this one. Enjoy!
