Trip to Yellowstone

In July we took a little family trip to Yellowstone with two other families from our neighborhood.  Carson and I had both been before but when we were pretty young so we didn't remember much. I wasn't sure how much fun James would have on this vacation but to my surprise he absolutely LOVED it!  He loved being outdoors exploring, seeing wild animals, and really loved experiencing it with some friends.  He talked about it for months after!  We will definitely be going back!

Here are some pics of the cabin we stayed in

not sure why there was a saddle on this post like 12 feet high....I just don't ask questions. Sadly, no one from our group sat on it.  I really wanted to see that happen.

Upon arrival we found what we thought was a dead bat in the tub in our bathroom...we soon learned that it was still alive, probably injured, but still alive.  We scoured the place for more bats but didn't find any.  Then one evening a bunch of us were out in the living room and Carson noticed something poke it's head out from behind some decor up against the wall.  Sure enough, it was another bat peeking on us!  We called maintenance and they sent this guy over who just grabbed it with his bare hands and took it out!  Haha who does that!? It was super entertaining.

James was so excited that we got to see a buffalo!
The views were amazing!  So pretty!

I love this picture

this picture cracks me up. These guys could definitely be in the "Dudes club". If you've seen What to Expect When You're Expecting you'll appreciate this :)
We rafted down [a very mild part of] the Snake River.  It took us about 3 hours! We barely made it back in time for the sun to go down!

Good times with good company.  We will definitely be going back!
